About Me
My name is Katie, I have been supporting people who are struggling with mental health challenges for around 10 years.
As a counsellor I work in a person-centred way, this means that my clients are in charge of the session and their growth, I use other skills and training to support my clients in the way they feel is best.
I have 10 years of experience supporting people with challenges to their mental health I have done this in different roles, these include private support roles, working within mental health in the NHS and offering talking therapy to young people (16-25 years old) and adults in voluntary sectors. I have gained knowledge and skills allowing me to effectively facilitate safe therapeutic growth.
My aim as a counsellor is to work with someone to create a relationship in which we can be honest, open and respectful of each other so that you feel safe to bring anything and everything to the counselling relationship.
Please be aware I do not offer couples counselling however this website might be helpful - Counselling Directory - Find a Counsellor Near You (counselling-directory.org.uk)
I am very creative and spend my spare time listening to a podcast or some classic rock with a paintbrush in my hand. I also enjoy going on walks with my two dogs Dora, a shrill poodle cross and Isla a clumsy German Shepherd puppy. Another one of my self care activities is lighting a good candle, grabbing a Diet coke and stick-on a good film.
Now that you know about me, I’d love to hear about you.
